David Gries David Gries has been on the faculty of Computer Science at Cornell University since 1969 (with a three-year break at the University of Georgia). He is currently Associate Dean of Engineering. His lifelong interests in the teaching of programming methodology, mathematics, and logic have produced many successful students and scores of publications. David has received all four national/international education awards in computer science --from the IEEE Computer Society, the ACM, ACM SIGCSE, and AFIPS. Paul Gries Paul Gries, a lecturer at the University of Toronto, currently teaches a course in Java, as well as one in programming languages and concepts. His undergraduate and graduate degrees are from computer science at Cornell, and he has won awards for teaching excellence at both Cornell and Toronto. Extending his teaching to those already practicing the craft, Paul has developed a course for high school teachers who want to keep their own students current with the rapidly changing ideas and conventions in computer programming. |
